Completely eco friendly Cactus silk, also known as Sabra Silk is loomed by hand, from fibres found in the Agave Cacti or Aloe Vera, a plant found in the Sahara Desert. The cacti leaves are crushed and soaked until the fibres of the plant disperse. The fibres are spun by hand then hand-embroidered with various motifs from the Berber woman of the Atlas Mountains. Each cover is then left to fade in the sun over time on the rooftops of Morocco. This process means no two covers will ever be the exact same, slight variations & imperfections may occur. This is what adds to the character & charm of each piece. Pure white cactus silk is very rare, hard to come by & time consuming to produce. These variations are hard to come by as they take many weeks to perfect.
